Lake Park Electricity Off:
There will be a scheduled power outage in Lake Park for utility maintenance Monday, May 27th at 7am. Some residential customers from West 1st Street to East 3rd Street, and North from Avenue B to Avenue C will be affected.
Spuds N Splits at Webb Methodist:
Webb United Methodist church hosts “Spuds N’ Splits” – a potato bar and build your own banana split supper Wednesday, May 29th, from 5:30 to 7pm at the church. A Free will offering will go to send kids to church camp this summer.
Single Spirits:
The Single Spirits will meet Thursday, May 30th at 7pm at the Spirit Lake public library. They’ll plan activities for the next five weeks.
Estherville Farmer’s Market:
The Estherville Downtown Market runs Thursday evenings from June 13th through September 5th from 5pm to 7pm (except July 4th.) The Excel! Estherville Arts and Culture Committee will sponsor “Music on the Square” on various evenings. The seasonal fee to be a vendor is $20 and can be paid at the Estherville Chamber of Commerce.
Greenville/Rossie Reunion:
The Greenville/Rossie Class Reunion is Sunday, June 2nd at the Royal Community Center. A potluck dinner will be held at 12:30. Bring your own tableservice. Drinks will be furnished. The classes of 1953 and 1963 will be recognized. No reservations are necessary.
Memorial Day Services 2013: Aurelia: All legion members and high school boys are asked to meet for breakfast between 6am and 7am at the legion. Then they’ll put up the Avenue of the Flags.
The parade assembles at the First Congregational Church with a 10am start. Any former or present military men and woman are asked to meet at 9:30 at the community center.
The program begins at 10:30am at the school gym.
A pork chop and chicken dinner will be served from 11:30 to 1pm at the community center for $9 a plate, children 5 and under will be $2.
Flags will be taken down at 4pm. Everly: Memorial Day services in Everly will be at 10:30 at the Lone Tree Cemetery, or at the Hap Ketelson Community Building in case of rain. It will be followed by the annual Burger Bar at the community center. A free will offering will be accepted. Mallard: Memorial Day Services in Mallard will be held at:
Ellington Cemetery: 9:15am
St. Mary’s Cemetery: 9:30am
Rush Lake Cemetery: 10am
In case of Bad Weather all services will be moved inside the Mallard Community Center at 10am. Milford:
7am: Volunteers meets at Milford legion to put up flags.
11am: Memorial Day Program with key note speaker Retired General Neal Christensen.
3:30: Volunteers meet at Milford Legion to pick up flags. Ruthven: Program begins at 9:40am at the Ruthven Legion Hall will a procession to Crown Hill Cemetery at 10:45am. Sioux Rapids: The American Legion will host services at 10am at the Lone Tree Cemetery followed by a maidrite luncheon from 11-1 at the community building. Spencer: There will be a Memorial Day luncheon from 11:30 to 1:30 at the American Legion in Spencer. Menu includes a pulled pork sandwich. The luncheon is open to the public and a free will offering will be accepted.
